Let’s Get Cooking!

On Monday, 18th March, the children were excited to make green pea soup. To make the soup, the children used the following ingredients: celery, cabbage, a courgette, vegetable (gluten free) stock cube, frozen peas and water. The children took it in turns to chop up the vegetables. These were then placed in water (heated up in a pot) which had a stock cube added to provide flavour. Peas were added to the water with the rest of the ingredients and left to simmer. Later, the children watched as the ingredients were blended by Mrs Reehal (teaching assistant). The soup was poured into cups and the children were able to taste it. Most of the children liked it and some asked for more! The children loved the experience of cooking in the school cafe. Many of them were keen to have a go at home. Well done 2H on your great culinary skills!
