National Numeracy Day in Year 2…

We decided to find out the most popular ice cream flavour in Year 2. First of all, we needed to collect our data. After deciding on some possible flavours, we asked each other which their favourite is. We recorded our findings in the form of a tally chart, remembering the golden rule of putting a diagonal line through for number five.

After collecting the data, we then used it to create a bar chart. Using this, we were able to identify the most popular and least popular ice cream flavours.

Red Nose Day Winners

This week, we found out who had won a prize from the Red Nose Day name raffle. Here are photographs of the winners from 2H. The rest of the class were wonderful in supporting the winners and gave them a huge applause. However, the best is yet to come…the whole class won a prize for donating the most money in key stage 1. They have been granted a movie afternoon! Oh wow! A huge thank you for your kindness and generosity. I’m so proud of 2H and their parents.

Scientific Fun!

This week was Science Week. The children had a fingerprint task to do at home. Several children brought the results of their investigation to school and presented in front of the class. Those children received a small gift for being brave enough to present their findings. All the children had an opportunity to create fingerprints and examine the different patterns while at school. Great science work! We ended the week making Mother’s Day cards as well as participating in Red Nose Day fun! Fantastic hairstyles alongside great jokes made the day entertaining. Thank you for all the generous donations to a worthy cause.

World Book Day

Thursday 2nd March was World Book Day. The children looked amazing in their costumes! It was great to see that so much effort had been taken to help the children celebrate our library theme: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. Well done everybody!

Shrove Tuesday

In the Christian calendar, this is the day of feasting before Ash Wednesday. It’s a day when people enjoy rich, fatty foods and sweet treats, such as pancakes, in preparation for Lent.

As you can see Y2 thoroughly enjoyed the feast this morning!
