This week was Mental Health Week. In recognition of this important event, the pupils came to school (on Thursday) wearing green. The children also participated in an emoji trail where they had to spot the escaped emojis. 2H spent some time in the sunshine observing and drawing plants using a pen. Sadly, the class said goodbye to Heidi and to Miss Dalliday (trainee teacher). As the summer 1 term ends, the final term will soon be approaching. Happy holidays 2H!

This week, class 2H went for a local walk to the library. On the way, they used their mapping skills to add symbols on a map of human and physical features that they spotted. The children had a wonderful time at the library and shared with the librarian the books they love reading.

This week, in science, the pupils have been exploring different seeds and have practised sorting them by either size or colour. The children also used soil and water to plant a bean. Happy Planting!

The first week, after the Easter break, the children were in school for four busy days. The children used maths resources to practise finding a third. They also started their new science topic on plants. They explored and participated in observational drawings of different plants on the school grounds.

This week, it was our turn to display a picture of hope to be placed in the school hall.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Easter break!

This week, class 2H have prepared and made a healthy meal. They chose what they would have from different food groups (including carbohydrates, protein and vegetables). The children chopped potatoes, carrots and onions and used vegetable stock and beans to make a delicious soup. Great culinary skills 2H!

This week, the children celebrated science week. The theme was about change and adaptation. The children discussed what things could be changed including the environment. They designed an area that could be shared by both humans and other animals. They ended the week by exploring how change can occur with colours when they are mixed with water.

It was another busy week for class 2H. Many children and their parents participated in the Colour Run as part of the Hindu festival: Holi. Those not running cheered on their peers. In the afternoon, the children celebrated with a dance tutorial.

This has been a whirlwind week of fun and excitement! At the start of the week, the children were reminded of the importance of Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday in the Christian calendar. They participated in a fun pancake race on Tuesday in their house teams. There was a lot of cheering and laughing! On Thursday, it was World Book Day and the theme was traditional tales. Wow! The children looked amazing in their creative, beautiful costumes! It was a fun day and the children participated in a writing competition about a traditional tale with a twist! I wonder who will win?
