This week, class 2H practised their mapping skills around the school grounds. They used their mapping skills to find human and physical landmarks around the school. The children had great fun doing this!

This week, the children started their new topic: Seeds of Wonder. In science, they revisited what was important for a plant to grow and survive. The children also had the opportunity to plant a bean! This linked nicely with their writing text based on Jack and the Beanstalk.

This week was a busy one with children excited about the Easter break. They completed their art work of an Owl and a Pussycat and constructed an Easter basket. They also attended an Easter service on Tuesday where they had the opportunity to listen to Reverend Dave and sing some lovely songs.

This week, the children were busy completing quizzes so it was important for them to have some time for creative fun. They started drawing an owl and a pussycat and creating a pea green boat (linked to their writing and art topics this term).

This week, the pupils were engaged in creating algorithms (instructions) as part of their computing lessons. They used Beebots to test out the accuracy of their instructions by getting the robot to travel from one place to another.

It has been a very busy week! This week was science week and the theme was curiosity: what’s your question? The pupils had a visit from Miss Hanley’s friend who uses science in her role as a nurse. The children participated in a science investigation about infections and the importance of washing your hands. The children had a special visit from some feathery creatures which linked nicely to our topic: Healthy Living Things.

The children had fun coming to school in their pyjamas, participating in a quiz and reading a passage from their favourite book.

It was wonderful to welcome the pupils back after half term. The week has been a busy one! The children have been continuing multiplication in mathematics and revisiting odd and even numbers to help their understanding of the two times tables. The children have started exploring what animals need to survive. They ended the week with a ukulele workshop which they thoroughly enjoyed.

This week, the children have been exploring everyday materials in science. They participated in an experiment to see which materials bent, stretched, squashed or twisted. They showed great collaboration and oracy skills. The children also enjoyed some outdoor learning which was also linked to science. They gathered some outdoor materials e.g.stones, sticks, soil and leaves and used them to create a potion. Luckily they didn’t have to taste it!
