It was another eventful week for class 2H.
The week began with a special guest who spoke at Monday’s assembly. The special visitor was Bronagh Daly who spoke to the children about her chair of sanctuary. Some of the children recognised the chair because it was the one they had seen at Leeds Minster (school trip to Leeds – Autumn 2). Mrs Cosgrove (PE) who had assisted on the trip to Leeds had a detailed conversation with Bronagh and arranged for the chair and Bronagh to visit the school! A huge thank you to Mrs Cosgove and her excellent organisational skills!
Following World Book Day, the class were gifted some comic books. The children have been taking turns to read them. It has been wonderful to see them become even more immersed in their reading.
On Thursday, the spoon competition winner from each year 2 class was announced. Congratulations to Sam the competition winner in class 2H but also a huge cheer to all of the pupils who entered the competition. All the entries were fantastic.
This week was also Science Week. The children participated in an activity exploring how moths need to adapt to safely live in their habitat without being found by a predator. The children drew a moth; some colourful and others less so. They played a game outside where they had to hide their moth from the predator. In this game, the predator was played by the class teacher who had to find the moths. The colourful moths were not as easy to spot when hidden in a colourful setting (habitat) but they were easier to spot in an area with fewer surrounding colours. The class had an informative discussion about this. Well done 2H!
